The Big Picture

We all are guilty of getting caught up in the hussle and bustle of life. We get caught up in the little things that ultimately really don't matter much, if at all. We dwell on this or that and ultimately they don't matter.

I know I'm guilty of this. I've seen, no I've lived the big picture in a way that I wish I hadn't. My daughter lived and died the big picture. My family has been changed forever.

Now I see a precious friend going through something that's bigger than anything she's ever been through. Bigger than MOST of you have ever lived through. It's one of those "worst nightmare" sort of things. Things that just simply don't make sense. We know God's hand is in it. We know that he'll show us good because of it, but it still at this moment makes no sense. When children are not perfect in every way we want to know why. Did we do something? Did we not do something? Is it something together with your spouse that you did. Was it something that you were exposed to? What about your spouse? Will you ever even find out the reason behind it and if that's possible do you REALLY want to know? There's almost always more questions than answers. How many of us have ultimately easy lives, most of us do. Sure many of us have money issue's, well so does it seems 99% of the world. Most of us even have some health issue's, but well isn't it better than your child having it? What happens though when it IS your child and you just have to WAIT and see? What if it's something fixable or possibly fixable..how far is TOO far and is there a point where you say "enough"? Chad and I have been there and yes there does come a point where you look at quality vs quantity. In a perfect world our children would be perfect in every way, especially health. But we don't live in a perfect world. We live in a world where Satan rules. We live in a world where God has been pushed out and told he's not allowed here or there, etc. Yet, when something bad happens we want to know WHY God was not there to prevent it. Well what do we expect when we have told him he's not allowed to come in. God is the ultimate gentleman and he's told he's not wanted, then he's not there. Yet there are many of us who love him, desire him, want him in our lives every second of every day. So when he still allows things that we consider bad and/or confusing to happen we pray he'll show us the answers and fix it for us, because well he's our Father, our Daddy and Daddy's fix things right? Right, but does it mean he'll fix it the way we want it? Does it mean he's going to give us the answer that we want? More often than not, his answer doesn't come to us in our time, but in his. His "fixes" are not what WE prayed for, but what he decided would be best. Does it mean we will understand and always accept them? No. There are times I know I get angry with God. It doesn't mean I stop believing in ALL that he is, oh no..I do, I'm just mad. Because along with love, kindness, joy, happiness all those "good" feelings and emotions he also gave me  confusion, sadness, despair, and anger.

Here I see a friend who's searching for answers, she knows God's hand is in everything. She doesn't doubt him. I ask that you pray for her, for  Emily. Pray that she continues to feel God with her and her family every step of the way. There are issue's going on in her life that are literally life changing in ways most of you will NEVER have to know. I know some how God will shine through and once again she'll have an amazing testimony of how he once again worked in her life and her child's. Do I know WHEN that testimony will be or what the end of that testimony will  be? No, what I do know though is that she loves God, she seeks him, even when she doesn't open the bible. Even as her heart aches for answers that no once can give her, God's there.

It's time we all see the big picture. We need to get past the little things. We need to see that others are hurting more than we have ever hurt. That there's more than the petty rediculous things we all complain about in our day to day life. It's time, if you haven't to give your life over to Jesus Christ. To believe he IS GOD, he IS ALL you will ever need. He will not make life all sunshine and roses, but he will give you eternity in Heaven vs Hell. He will always be there to lean on in good times and bad.

An excellent entry Christy. Praying for Emily.  Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts on the big picture and getting past the daily things that don't really matter in the ultimate scheme of things.  You have such lovely graphics in this entry too.  Hugs,
