Prayers

Please will you all keep me in your prayers. I struggle desperately with insomnia. I thought it was getting better when Chad got home, because I was able to fall asleep easily, but it was short lived. Since we returned from Garmisch 2 of those nights I was up until 5 am and the other nights I've been up anywhere between 2-4 am. I have an apt next Wednesday for another issue and I'm going to ask the Dr what we can do about it. I've tried many things and I'm just at the end of my rope. We're hoping to have another baby (no I'm definately not pregnant), so if I can do it without medication that'd be the obvious best choice, but if I need something in the form of medication that could at least help me get on tract and maybe back into a healthy way of sleep. I apperciate the prayers. God Bless and Thank you

I use the herb "valerian" to help me sleep. I don't suffer from insomnia but I do suffer from anxiety and it makes it hard to get to sleep and stay asleep. Valerian mellows me out without making me feel out of it the next day. You can get pills, oil or tea...

hope it helps!

Bless your heart!!  As we know all things happen for a reason even if we don't know why. But GOD DOES!!!!  He will help in ways we never thought of. You are continually in my prayers. Love, Sue (Deb's mom)

You and yours are always in my prayer ~ but I will add this to them.  I have used Valerian root tea for those nights that my eyes just won't stay shut or my mind won't turn off ~ it does the trick for me ~ Best wishes in hopes for a new addition.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family :O)

Hi Christy!
Prayers are coming your way. As someone with sleep issues (yay for 12.5g of Ambien a night!) I can tell you there are and there aren't good medications to be on - regardless of the medications, what is most important is that you get a healthy night's sleep! We're pulling for you,
Charley

I'll keep you in my prayers!  I know how hard it is to not be able to sleep- but I've never had insomnia.  Hopefully you'll be able to get it solved and fixed soon!  Blessings!  Carolyn

I have insomnia as well - luckily its usually only in short spurts of no longer then a week.  Are you dragging the next day or are you still full of energy?  If I really need sleep I usually take a simply sleep from tylenol - I've never gotten addicted but know you can.  Hope the doctor will help and good luck with getting pregnant - I'm pulling for you.  Happy Thanksgiving - Leene

I have been having the same problem lately.  Let me know what your doc says.  Good luck.  I'll be praying for you.

Christy, I pray that you overcome this.  If I may suggest, have you tried talking your body to sleep?  It's never failed me.  Starting with your toes and, slowly working up, repeat calming words in your mind.  Something like: I am relaxed, soothed, at ease.  I am relaxed.  Relax.  Repeat over and over.  Working up, slowly.  I've used this method for years, but I've never made it past my hips.  I always fall asleep before I get any further. No pills, no chemicals.

Good luck, and sleep well.

I've had a few bouts of this, but thankfully they always seemed to end as mysteriously as they began.  When my mind whirs and wonders and I can't shut it down I try to make it focus on a prayer.  Seems I start to pray and I often just slip on off to sleep.  LOL  Sounds funny.  But I see it as God saying to me like I say to Bug "hush,now.....it's late.  Tell me tomorrow."  -  Barbara
