Ok I think I've been very informative about how German's (and a good portion of the rest of Europe) does not believe in A/C. Don't ask me why, because it DOES get hot here. Normally it's only for about a month, but last year I was dying for a good while and well this year being pregnant I can tell you all that A/C is simply a must. Call me a spoiled rotten American, I'm ok with that! I know my husband spent his summer last year in 140 degree temps in the stinking, nasty desert...but well I'm still not enjoying the heat. Today we hit 94. While in side I had so much sweat dripping down my back and well I'm one of those women who SWEATS, I do NOT perspire, I sweat. I've ALWAYS sweated (is that a word?). Even when I was thin and very in shape, I'd sweat. It's just one of those lovely blessings. I know that sweat is our bodies way of cooling down, but it still feels disgusting! So we went outside after Jacob was done with his school work (which btw next week will be moving to the mornings!).
So we get outside and go to the park, no one was there (probably because they were all at the swimmbad (aka swimming pool). It's just a couple blocks away and we plan to buy a season pass! So anyways....the park I was just roasting, I was as hot and miserable as I was in our 3rd floor apartment. So we move to the yard behind our building. We have our patio table and chairs out there and it's set up in an area where it stays shady for most of the daylight hours. The boys rode their bikes and Chad hooked up their valcano to the hose and our neighbor came out and she has a little tiny pool and we filled that up and her oldest son and the boys played in that. Her oldest is 2 yrs old (she has 1 yr old twin boys too). Her little guy just followed the boys everywhere, he and Jack played great together and Jacob was good at keeping them cooled off! LOL Chad grilled burgers for us and we came up a little after 7 and ate dinner. Thankfully it'd cooled off a little.
I told Chad when we were outside that we HAD to find an A/C and quick, because too many more days of this and I was not going to last. We woke up and it was really warm, and unless I was sitting directly in front of a fan I was miserable We have 5 fans up here, I believe we have 1 more fan in the basement, I have 3 fans just in our bedroom, with one directly on my side of the bed pointing directly at me!
Oh tonight I decided to take a cool bath. It was luke warm and definately cooled me off. The danger of taking a bath is that well you have to stand up eventually and get up. Not pregnant this isn't such a big deal, but I'm 7 months pregnant, my balance is AWFUL (and I'm not exactly the most graceful person the way it is). It's well an art getting up in the tub. It did feel really good. I took my book in with me and read, while I think my body tempature dropped 5 or so degree's! LOL It did feel good! :) :)
Ok so this post has been full of a lot of nothing!
I'm going to bed early tonight! Oh and Kelly sorry about getting cut off last night...AOL decided to sign me off, but I think it was God telling me that it was 3 am and I was supposed to go to bed, because you were being a bad influence on me and keeping me up! ROFL!! Love ya!

funny, you say you're going to bed early tonight but it's midnight and you're still awake. Of course when you don't have a/c it's harder to even think about sleeping. Have a great weekend!
I hope you get some a/c soon! I hated being pg in the heat. Linda
i do hope you find a AC unit so you can keep cool. I would die without our swamp cooler
