Day 28: I just called one of my oldest friends and although she wasn't home for a moment I talked to her son, who turned 11 in August. We were 18 when he was born and I was honored to be one of the ones to be at the hospital when she had him. I wasn't in the room, but she was the first of us to have a baby (she also had cancer at the time, Hodgkins Disease). She was induced 4 weeks early and at 26 weeks he came in at over 6 1/2 lbs which stunned EVERYONE especially when you look at his parents who are both petite. He's still a tall and sturdy boy. When he heard it was me his whole voice changed from a dreary voice to a much chipper and excited voice! He's such a sweet boy and although I haven't been directly in his life like I was the first couple of years, how blessed I am to know that little boy who's not so little and so close to no longer being a "boy". He still has so much innocence though. His mom has done a wonderful job with him. I give thanksgiving to being allowed to be in the room when his younger brother was born, I literally watched him come into this world. It was amazing. Such a gift from GOD. I honestly don't know how any woman or man who's experienced the birth of their own child or watched the birth of a child could EVER deny GOD exists. It's nothing short of a miracle.
