THANK YOU President Bush!

I don't care if you support our President or not, this is the RIGHT thing and I'm so happy he's signed this bill Bush bans protests at military funerals - Yahoo! News

I grew up in a small town 30 miles from Topeka and knew of this jerk and his family spreading their hate. I won't talk about what friends did to him and his family as they stood across the captiol building, stood in front of funerals, stood on Gage Bullivard, etc...

This is NOT freedom of speech, it's HATE at it's worst.

Memorial Day: When You Come Home

I advise you to have some tissue's especially if you're a military wife.

It's a Beautiful Day

Yes that's right! Jack is in full gear of Potty Training! Yes, I may actually have him out of diapers (well at least during the day) before Chad returns from Iraq!! Yahoo, welcome home baby!

He just started yesterday, but he's trying really hard and well I'm excited, Jacob's, excited, so...Jack's excited! LOL He's also discovered a love for Thomas the Train! He has a little Thomas and a Duncan that he carries around with him everywhere. He was NOT happy when I made him leave them in the van this morning during church. Gee the mean mom that I am! LOL He didn't do bad by any means. I just don't let them take toys out of the van, so that they don't get lost.

We went to the PX the commissary and then I decided to be nice and treat the boys to lunch and he snuck Duncan in with him and then proceeded to leave him by the arcade games, Jacob ran back in and got him for him. I thought he was going to just lose it. He's never been a child that gets too attached to anything other than me, so who'd have thought! LOL! On payday I'm going to see if I can find him a couple Thomas DVD's and maybe a toy or two. I'm not leaving Jacob out, but I'm going to let him pick out a water slide for them to play on this summer when it actually gets hot enough for them to do that.

Oh and another bright spot for me! My downstairs neighbor had her aunt living with her for a while. The neighbor is a Divorced soldier. She has 3 of her 6 children living with her, the other 3 are in the states with her ex. Anyways, one of the 3 is a baby...maybe 4 months old. Anyways, the aunt had came over because she was going to deploy, but they've changed that now. The aunt has been getting on my nerves A LOT lately. She plays her music extremely loud...so loud that not only can I hear it, but the bass is turned up so high that I (well we, the boys too) could FEEL it through our floor. I was on my couch one day and could feel it! I've been talking to friends in the states in the past and they could HEAR it! So yeah...it was LOUD! I'd asked her before to turn it down, but seriously it just takes common sense and curtiousy to not play your music that loud. Especially, especially (yes I know I wrote that twice) when there's a baby in there. Baby's hear things 10 times LOUDER than we do! So, anyways, the aunt LEFT yesterday!!!!! I saw her put all her suitcases into someone's trunk, along with a few otherbags. I was going down to do a load of laundry when I heard her tell her friend that she still needed to call her son and mom and let them know what time she'd be arriving! Wahoo! I know not a loving attitude is it. I can't help from being happy though,.

Well, I need to get the living room vaccuumed and pick up a few things, before the boys get up from their nap and we go outside for a while!

Have a SON FILLED Sunday! :)

Taylor Hicks

I have loved him since I saw him audition!!! Simon didn't think that Paula and Randy would put him into the Final 12! Not only did he make it, but he won it all!

This man has so much talent, it just literally jumps out of him. Yes he's goofy & unique! I love it about him! I love his voice. He gave me chills many times throughout the year. I did like Chris too and honestly am still shocked he got kicked out, but Chris will have a great career in music.

So to all those who love "The Soul Patrol"! I was screaming (yes I literally screamed) on my couch tonight! (We get American Idol a day later).

Reba vs Dixie Chicks

I shared with Lori about what I'd read yesterday what Martie from The Dixie Chicks said about country music fans and Reba. Here's the link: Quote Of The Day - Dixie Chicks' Dump Fans Edition - Wizbang

Here's what she said:

"I'd rather have a smaller following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do."

Dixie Chick Martie Maguire in Time Magazine, still turning up their noses at country music fans, who deserted them in droves after the controversy surrounding lead singer Natalie Maines telling a a London audience in 2003, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas." Speaking of Maines; her one regret about the incident... apologizing. "I apologized for disrespecting the office of the President," says Maines. "But I don't feel that way anymore. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever."

Very small group indeed of fans is what they will have no doubt. Some of the most  devoted fans you'll find are country music fans. They've now clearly burned their bridges and some bridges can't and just won't be rebuilt. What they may not realize is that it's not just country music fans and radio stations that will not play their music, it's Contemporary/Pop stations as well.

Great Quote!

I was watching the Country Music Awards tonight, and Reba McIntyre gave the BEST quote!!!

"I don't know why I was so nervous about hosting tonight. If the Dixie Chicks can sing with their foot in their mouth, then I can surely host this sucker."

Lori, thought of you! LOL

I was over at Traci 's today and her latest entry made me think about if others have wills set up, power of attorney, etc.

With Chad being in the Army and deployed, he has to have all this set up and we went a couple yrs ago and had a will drawn up for both of us, I know we both need to actually update our wills. I have power of attorney for Chad, but the one we had set up for him on me expired, so when he gets home I need to get that updated again.

Chad and I also have our cemetary plots picked out and paid for, we did that right after Jordyn died. We are young, but tomorrow is NEVER promised and knowing that even if I hopefully die an old lady, that's something our children and/or Chad will NEVER have to worry about is nice. We need to get money put aside for our funerals.

I know this is something most people don't like to think about, much less discuss, but it IS important. You need to have your wishes written out. Personally what happens at my funeral I'm not too worried about. It'll be what my family wants in general. But, I would never want them to go into debt just to have me buried.

If you haven't done any of these things, I urge you to. This is important. If you have all this done, make sure your family members know your wishes as well, less confusion later on.

I know fun and EXCITING entry huh! :) Life will eventually end for all of us, we can't be in denial about it. Plus it's only going to get better once in Heaven!!!!!
