This is from Patty over at:

Giving Thanks...................

If you do this, leave for your link over at HER journal!

What are you THANKFUL for?? Is it for your health, is it for your wealth? , is it for your kids?, etc....

Just sit down and think..really think...... What do you hold most to your heart that you are thankful for?? If you are like me I cannot pinpoint just one thing . I cannot say " oh it is for Ryan { my son}" cause what about my mother, father, etc...

Then what about you health, friends, etc................

ME???

Ok I have so many things I'm thankful for so here's my list!

1. Jesus, with out him I am nothing and my life would be nothing.

2. My husband, who's home safe from Iraq!

3. My daughter Jordyn. I never knew a mother's love and then I had her and never wanted it to stop. Even though she died from cancer, I thank GOD every day that we had her, even if it was only for 2 yrs. She will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

4. My sons. My oldest showed me that I really could love a child again after our daughter died and our younger son has showed us that we could go into a hospital with our child and walk out standing (he was in NICU for 8 days because of fluid on his lungs).

5. Living in Germany. We're experiencing so many wonderful things here. Our marriage and over all family has grown closer because we depend on each other so much.

6. Fall, I love the new found cooler temps that it brings and the beautiful leaves.

7. My friends. A few certain ones have been my rock and I hope they know just how much I love them.

I know I could go on and on, but I don't want to make this a mile long!

He's home!

First off we both want to thank all of you who welcomed Chad home! If you want to see pictures, in about 2 minutes I'm going to our other journal and I'm going to upload the pictures there! I (Christy) am hoping that Chad will take some time over the next couple of weeks and write out his thoughts and feelings about this latest deployment. There's also Iraq pictures that we're going to be uploading onto this computer and we'll be sharing them on the other journal as well!

Thank you again for your support and love!

God Bless

About Me

I added pictures to the "about me" side bar! I'll probably switch these in and out periodically!

5 Days! (added pictures)

5 days people, 5 days until my husband is home in my arms and playing with our children once again! Today's a crisp, rainy October day in the state of Bavaria (Germany). It's beautiful. I really, really love sitting at my desk looking out my window at the bright orange leaves. They're so beautiful. Today I will get a picture of the particular tree that I look at.

I have accomplished one of my goals so far today. All the laundry is done! Well, of course as the boys finish cleaning their room, they've managed to give me another load of clothes that was so kindly "hiding" under their bed! But I can handle that. It's just one load. I am also thrilled to say 4 loads have been put up so far and I have 2 or 3 left, they're all folded, but they just need to be put away. I WILL finish that today! We've only been working on this for a couple hours and I also while putting clothes away, rearranged the boys closets! See I HAVE been productive today!

We're having a late lunch from a late breakfast. It's almost done. I have a pot of chili going too, so when we're hungry we can eat that. Dinner tonight will most likely just happen when someone's hungry, and they can eat!

I hate to get up from my desk. I love looking out my window and looking at these stunning oranges and yellows of the leaves. I am going to take a picture (s) of them today, so you can enjoy the beauty I am right now!

If we get the boys room all done, I'll be taking a picture of that too! LOL It's been quite the feat! I want everything to be as perfect as it can be for when Chad comes home and we're almost there! 5 more days! 5 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The beginning of the day you couldn't see the floor, literally!

(Clothes set out on the ottoman for church in the morning)

I'll be removing the carpet tomorrow prob. and throwing it out. We've had it for almost 10 yrs and it's a mess now after the boys took their toll on it. I will have to buy a new one, I don't want to take a chance of the hardwood getting damaged\

The boys closets leftside is shelves                                                                        right side is the bar to hang up clothes

Jacob and Jack in Jack's bed (bottom bunk) all tuckered out after a hard day of work!

I just loved this picture of Jack! :)

I didn't end up getting pictures of the tree outside my living room, but I did take these yesterday, these two tree's are by the building across the parking lot from us. We now are also a blue building (I'm definately "blued-out", but they didn't ask me so we'll live with it! LOL)

You can see the roof to our building on the left (we're about the same color, just slightly lighter)

Same building as above, better view of more colorful trees.

6 days and counting!

Well in 6 days my husband SHOULD be home! I'm excited and so ready. I've been a laundry crazy woman today! I have at most 2 more loads to wash, then it's all about putting them up! I plan to get at leats 2 loads put away today or tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to fnish putting it all away! I know totally boring, but I'm just thinking out loud you could say! Tomorrow the boys and I are also going to finish our banners and posters!

Sunday we'll be hanging up all our banners, the whole battalion of us wives! There are currently a lot of posters and banners up right now for the other 2 units that just came home, they are supposed to have all theirs down by this weekend, so that we don't have to take them down and possibly ruin them, since some of them are truly beautiful!

The boys and I are just trying to stay busy and get through this next week! I know it'll go by quickly, but slowly all at the same time! I have a lot that I still need to get done, and not much time to do it. I work best though with pressure on!

In the beautiful land of Germany, the leaves are all turning into the beatiful fall colors. I look out my living room window at gorgous tree's of orange, yellow, red, and light greens! I love fall. I love the crisp air. When Chad's home we'll be going down to
Edelweiss for a full week! I'm really looking forward to that! I think it'll be just gorgous down there. We went there last yr about this time last yr and it was so beautiful, so hopefully there will still be leaves left on the tree's and all that beauty left!

I'll keep you all updated on if he's still going to arrive when we're being told! This weekend we're supposed to get more definate dates. We'll then get 48 hr notice, so hopefully Tuesday I'll be getting a call and then calling other wives to let them all know that our husbands are coming home on Thursday!

Army Strong

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhhTfbo3Z5U

The New Army Slogan....I never liked the "Army of One", for the most part it was just rediculous...an Army can't run on being individuals. Soldiers are a team. They must work together. For 20 yrs, I think most of not all of us think of the Army as soon as we here the little diddy..."Be All That You Can be" :)

I like Army Strong. I really like the new commercial. Our soldiers are some of the most amazing people out there! I'm proud to be married to a soldier who's an amazing man strong in strength, character, and morals.

Hello

Well life is going well here. We're getting closer and closer to Chad coming home and before I know it we'll be down to single digits and let me tell you that it's only a few days away!!!! I can not wait! With the fact that he's coming home though means that the pressure is on to get everything done. I'm a procrastinator. I clean my best when I am pressured! I do have things that just have to be done before last minute. Laundry.

I HATE laundry. We're on the 3rd floor and the laundry room is in the basement, so that stinks, but over all I never have liked it. I have an "X" amount of baskets with clean and folded clothes in them and not put up. I know! It's terrible, but that's my reality! It's my "dirty" (well they're clean! LOL) little secret, although a few people in my life know this sad fact already! So I've decided every day I'll put away at leat one basket of laundry that I've needed to put away. Plus I have laundry I need to get caught up on. So as I get the laundry done, I'll put that away too, so ultimately I'll probably be putting away 2 or 3 baskets away a day. That's really the big thing I want to get done. Just basic cleaning the house. The boys are working on their bedroom which they will finish soon and then next week they'll get their playroom all nice and cleaned up, it's not too bad, but I want it to be as good as it can be before Chad comes home.

I'm hoping to just have everything just right for when he comes home so he can just truly relax and feel like this is his soft place to come home to without feeling like we have things to accomplish in the first few days!

I'm Ready

I've tried very hard not to complain or whine throughout this deployment. I believe that it won't make it any easier, sure won't help the time go by, and ultimately what's it going to accomplish? Nothing but annoyances of those who do read here and one day when I look back I'd be rolling my eyes at myself.

Well, Chad's now safe and sound in Kuwait. He has a lot of things to do to get the rest of the Batallion there to join him and his 5 soldiers. He's stressed and I'm just ready. I am ready for this deployment to be over. I'm ready for my husband to be home and in my arms. I'm ready to be held at night by arms that know how to hold me. I'm ready to be kissed, really kissed. (I do love kisses from a certain 5 and 3 yr old little boys, but well not the same!). I want to be able to roll over in bed and nudge my husband because he's snoring too loud. I look forward to when I get some odd craving once a month being able to just walk over to the shoppette if I want and know that he's home with the boys.  I look forward to going on walks with him, holding my hand, while the boys run in front of us.

I'm ready for my husband to be home. I'm ready to be able to breath easily once more, at least for a little while. I'm ready for family vacations and road trips.

The last couple hours the blahs have taken over me. I just really, really miss Chad and can't wait for him to be home.

Devotion

I got this from Blue Letter Bible and just felt I had to share it....

Child of God, do you hesitate to appropriate this title? Ah! has your unbelief made you forget that you are greatly beloved too? Must you not have been greatly beloved, to have been bought with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot? When God smote His only begotten Son for you, what was this but being greatly beloved? You lived in sin, and rioted in it, must you not have been greatly beloved for God to have borne so patiently with you? You were called by grace and led to a Saviour, and made a child of God and an heir of heaven. All this proves, does it not, a very great and superabounding love? Since that time, whether your path has been rough with troubles, or smooth with mercies, it has been full of proofs that you are a man greatly beloved. If the Lord has chastened you, yet not in anger; if He has made you poor, yet in grace you have been rich. The more unworthy you feel yourself to be, the more evidence have you that nothing but unspeakable love could have led the Lord Jesus to save such a soul as yours. The more demerit you feel, the clearer is the display of the abounding love of God in having chosen you, and called you, and made you an heir of bliss. Now, if there be such love between God and us let us live in the influence and sweetness of it, and use the privilege of our position. Do not let us approach our Lord as though we were strangers, or as though He were unwilling to hear us—for we are greatly beloved by our loving Father. "He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" Come boldly, O believer, for despite the whisperings of Satan and the doubtings of thine own heart, thou art greatly beloved. Meditate on the exceeding greatness and faithfulness of divine love this evening, and so go to thy bed in peace.
